SEG's 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The Canadian Exploration Geophysical Society (KEGS) presented an Airborne Geophysical Symposium prior to the PDAC Convention in Toronto. There was a display of historical geophysical equipment in celebration of the SEG 75th anniversary.

The program included a brief history of the SEG, an update by Craig Beasley, President of the SEG and a talk by principal speaker Mike Stinson, a former senior vice president of Conoco. In February 2004, the U.S. Government asked Stinson to serve as the senior advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Oil under the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, Iraq. It was an instructive and entertaining luncheon.

In honor of the SEG 75th Anniversary, Cumhuriyet University Geophysical Engineering Department and Geophysics Student Section held a one-day seminar. The celebrations continued with a birthday cake at the following supper meeting.
